XOTUTOR.AI was born from lived experience. Growing up in underprivileged circumstances, I learned early that education was the single most powerful force for transforming life outcomes — opening doors that would otherwise have remained firmly closed.
After 13 years in higher education at Manchester Metropolitan University, becoming a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I witnessed the same pattern repeatedly: talented individuals held back not by lack of ability, but by lack of access. The best resources remained locked behind language barriers, geographic limitations, and price tags that excluded the very people who needed them most.
The question became clear: what if we could give a student in rural Kenya the same access to personalised learning as a student in central London? In 2025, I built the answer — as a self-described "novice coder," creating a platform that development agencies quoted at £600,000.
